Graece Βαίτυλος. Priscian. l. 5. Abadir Deus est; Dicitur et hôc nomine lapis ille, quem Saturnus dicitur devorâsse pro Iove, quem Graeci Baetylon vocant. Hesych. Βαίτυλος, οὕτω ἐκαλεῖτο ὁ δοθεὶς λίθος τῷ Κρόνῳ ἀντὶ Διός. Etymologus, Βαίτυλος ἐκλήθη ὁ λίθος ὅν ἀντὶ Διὸς ὁ Κρόνος ἔπιεν. Idem nullô sensu, Βαίτυλος, Λίβανον τὸ ὄρος τῆς Ι᾿λίου πόλεως: sed supplendum ex Phavorino. Βαίτυλος, λίθος γενόμενος κατα τὸν Λίβανον. Utrobique autem pro Ι᾿λίου scribendum Η῾λίου. Erant lapides informes et impolitae statuae (ante Statuariam artem excultam) quales Eusebius, vel potius ex hoc forsan Cedrenus, Serugi aetatem respiciens,
